University of Missouri-Columbia 2009.The primary goal of this research was to find a link between abnormal levels of daily activities, provided by a sensor monitoring system, and pulse pressure (PP), using data mining algorithms. A widened PP predicts a higher risk of subsequent cardiovascular events, coronary heart disease, renal disease, heart failure, and mortality, particularly in the elderly. Furthermore, it seemed reasonable trying to predict the PP and compare the predicted PP trend with the measured PP trend. Different classification algorithms including neural network, robust regression, and SVM have been applied to two data sets corresponding to a male and female living at TigerPlace. The results suggest that the bed restlessness and motion levels may be used to predict high PP in elderly. The low heart rate led to an improved prediction rate. The robust regression proved to be the best algorithm. Differences between the predicted and measured PP trends might be able to provide a hint about the possibility of upcoming abnormal clinical events. Surprisingly, the medication influencing the motion and sleep pattern did not alter the PP prediction but the predicted PP trend was able to capture the influence of hyper- and hypotension medication, such as Lopressor and Lasix.Includes bibliographical references

Conic cancellation laws and some applications

We discuss, on finite and infinite dimensional normed vector spaces, some versions of Radstr\"{o}m cancellation law (or lemma) that are suited for applications to set optimization problems. In this sense, we call our results "conic" variants of the celebrated result of Radstr\"{o}m, since they involve the presence of an ordering cone on the underlying space. Several adaptations to this context of some topological properties of sets are studied and some applications to subdifferential calculus associated to set-valued maps and to necessary optimality conditions for constrained set optimization problems are given. Finally, a stability problem is considered

In 2021 year, 120 cultivars of winter wheat were tested on the Caracal chernozem in microplots. The following traits were determined: yield, thousand kernel weight, test weight, days from 01.01 to heading date. The variability of the characters was studied by the method of boxplots and variability coefficients. The obtained yield registered values between 12306 kg / ha for the Romanian cultivar Ursita and 5803 kg / ha for the KWS Marvel cultivar. The plant height had values between 110 cm for the Kapitol cultivar and 69 cm for the Avenue cultivar. The test weight showed values in the range 78 kg / hl (Apexus) - 64.2 kg / hl (Atuan). The thousand kernel weight recorded values between 47.2 g for the SY Starlord cultivar and 29.29 g for the Amburgo cultivar. The period from 01.01 to heading date lasted between 143 days (Sophie and Lennox) and 123 days (Tata Mata and Felix). The highest coefficient of variability was presented by the yield, this being over 10%. The lowest variability was registered by the test weight and the period from 01.01 to heading date, the values being around 3%. The analysis of the variability of the yield by the boxplot method highlighted a negative outlier (KWS Marvel cultivar). From the point of view of plant height, by the same method, three positive outliers were observed - Kapitol, Bezostaia and Exotic. Their height - 110, 109, and 108 cm, respectively, is significantly larger than that of all other cultivars. The values of the calculated correlation coefficients suggested that in the climatic conditions of 2020-2021 agricultural year, the yield was not correlated with any of the studied characters, the coefficients being below 0.21 (the value from which the correlation could be considered significant at P = 5%)

Experimental Investigation And Development Of An Extended Two Color Method (etcm) With Application To Internal Combustion Engines

The internal combustion engine is on a continuous path of improvement to reduce exhaust gaseous emissions and improve fuel economy. While recent trends in diesel engine development have lowered the EGR requirements, future regulatory pressure will likely result in a reversed trend in the future. Given this, it is of interest to improve the application range of diagnostic tools such as the two color method (TCM) typically used in evaluating the properties of engine soot, such as temperature and volume fraction. This optical diagnostic method relies on the use of the light emitted by the soot particles along with a soot emissivity model in order to estimate the temperature T and optical thickness KL characterizing the soot cloud of interest. This assumption is reasonable for the traditional diesel combustion, where low degrees of premixed combustion result in very low amounts of blue-flame light emission compared to the soot related radiation. However, for LTC (low temperature combustion) combustion modes this assumption is no longer applicable, especially for combustion strategies characterized by very large premixed combustion phases, such as the Partially-premixed Charge Compression Ignition (PCCI) strategies. The aim is to obtain more information related to the combustion process and specifically on the soot formation and oxidation process. For this reason, the present research can be divided in two major sections. The first section focuses on the development of a combustion optical probe and the optical experimental setup necessary for conducting the experimental work. Information regarding the soot formation and oxidation processes may be inferred from the measured signal. The objective of the second section of the current research is to provide the theoretical background and experimental evidence needed to describe the proposed optical diagnostic tool, the extended two-color method (eTCM). This method attempts to extend the domain of applicability of the classical two color method within the area of strong CO continuum interference as well as providing a method of testing the validity of the conventional two-color method. Further, it provides additional information regarding the strength of the radiation associated with the CO flame continuum. Towards this goal, the work was conducted on a fully accessible optical engine, which allowed the use of multiple synchronous optical measurements targeted towards the evaluation of the proposed optical diagnostic tool. The evidence presented in this work suggests that eTCM is capable of temperature and soot optical thickness factor correction under medium and strong blue-flame interference without significant impact on the temperature estimation uncertainty. Consequently, the currently proposed extended two-color method (eTCM) has the potential for a large-scale impact in the fields of fundamental engine research as well as engine development and calibration

The study is dedicated to various jurisdictions’ approaches to cryptocurrency relations regulation. The digital assets’legal status in the European Union is analyzed both at the central level as well at the level of such EU members as Malta, Romania, Germany. Among the countries that geographically belong to Europe, but are not members of the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are considered in this aspect. The authors also reviewed the most important issues of cryptocurrency regulation in the largest economy in the world - the United States. The Asian region is represented in the study by the jurisdictions where digital assets are most widespread (China and Japan). The main conclusion is that the Republic of Moldova should develop the balanced approach for legalizing the new sphere of socio-economic relations by taking into consideration both positive and negative experience as well as the best legal practices of other states in this field

Testemiţanu Universitatea Academiei de Ştiinţe a MoldoveiThe correlation between phenotypic manifestations, type of mutation and alelic variants of the genes of folate cycle in patients with Duchenne/Becker muscular distrophy The frequency of different alelic variants of MTHFR gene in patients with DMD/B was estimated during this investigation. The incidence of C677T allelic variant in patients with DMD/B was 21,4%. This mutation leads to reduction of activity of MTHFR by 35-60%, and, consequently, leads to a reduced level of methionine, which influences the myopathyc process. Analysis of MTRR polymorphism revealed the prevalence of A66G (92,9%), which leads to 4- times lower activity of this enzyme. Patients with in-frame deletions in dystrophin gene in combination with heterozygous status MTHFR, MTRR genes have severe clinical picture instead the mild one. Patients with mild clinical picture have the next genotype of folate cycle genes: 677-TT, 1298- CC.

Virtual manufacturing systems can provide useful means for products to be manufactured without the need of physical testing on the shop floor. As a result, the time and cost of part production can be decreased. The paper presents the influence of tool path trajectory on surface deviation geometry when finishing inclined surfaces. The aim of the study is to optimize the milling process taking into account the milling strategy. The research was focused on ball end finishing because it is well known that in plain cutting, in the centre of the flat mill the cutting speed is vc = 0 m/min. According to that, the surface roughness is influenced by the fact that in this area a friction process occurs and not a cutting process. Six types of tool trajectories were simulated and surface deviation was evaluated
